Reflection: The last week of my internship was I guess you could say, very uneventful. It's not like we had an influx of surveys coming in so the only special day was on the last Tuesday the 27th. Sarah took me out to lunch at Bojangles (because she asked where I wanted to go). She thanked me again for all the work I did and we had another very informal conversation. We talked about school, college, relationships, friends, work, etc. I view her has a mom figure in a sense. I can open up to her about anything because I trust her and we're good friends.

The entire internship experience as a whole was... kind of boring. I did a lot of repetitive things, but that's work. The people and fun parts were obviously "fun", but the work part I didn't like. If I could go back and do it again I would probably have chosen another internship that would've been more related to something I wanted to do (like physical therapy). This internship still taught me some things. I don't want to do grocery as a career, I don't want to be behind a desk all day, and I got a lot better at time management. So even though I didn't like it, it was still better than no internship at all.

Reflection: This whole week went very smoothly. There weren't a ton of surveys filled out, I talked with Sarah a lot that week just about different things. It was a very informal conversation which is always fun to have with your boss. I was getting paid for it too so I wasn't complaining! The internet dropped on one of the days and Sarah joked with me that I was the one who did it. We have a very unique relationship you could say. One more week to go!

The only major problems that I have experienced at Harris Teeter is the sudden amount of work I had to do multiple times. You never know when customers will fill out surveys. Some days there could be very few and others there could be a lot more. I never knew what to exactly expect when I went into work that day. Also, having to learn the Harris Teeter software myself was challenging at first but I got the hang of it pretty quick. It would've been nicer for someone to at least watch over me or show me the ropes but I didn't get that experience. It worked out all in the end anyway so it didn't matter a whole lot.

Reflection: This week on Thursday Sarah invited me to go to lunch with her. I thought it was odd at first but I didn't complain because I was getting free food. We went to Rudy's right next door and she basically just wanted to tell me that she appreciated what I was doing and that I did a good job doing it. She said I was a hard worker and was really flexible with the different types of jobs she had given me. It was just a nice way of saying "Thank you." The rest of the week I did my usual job with no problems or concerns. It was a fairly smooth week compared to the others.

Through the internship so far, I've learned that I'm very efficient when it comes to a lot of work. I don't slack off and I'm able to accomplish more than I credited myself for. It's also taught me that I don't want a career in grocery or anything of the sort. I don't find much of an appeal to those types of jobs. I'm sure some are fine, but for the most part, I'm not interested.

Reflection: This week Sarah had me do a different task. I had to pull all of the items off the ends of the shelves and put them back in the aisle where they belong. It wasn't anything technology related but it was still a task that they needed to have done and they chose me to do it which was kind of nice. It was nice to switch things up a little bit.

This experience has affected my career plans because I know now that I don't want to do something sitting behind a desk all day. Sure, I might like the quality of work done, but it does get boring after a while. I also don't want to anything grocery wise. I get tired of dealing with all types of customers (usually bad ones).
