Reflection: The first day of my internship was a lot easier than I predicted. I had already been working at Harris Teeter for 11 months prior, I am very familiar and friendly with the staff and my manager Sarah. Sarah sat me down in front of the computer in the department managers office and logged me in. She opened up Harris Teeters report building software and said "Play around with it, there's no rush. I'll check in on you in a bit." Today was all about familiarizing myself with the program. I explored the options and different settings I could click on to change what reports compare to what, etc. It was confusing at first but I eventually started to get the hang of it.

Harris Teeter is a grocery store that provides 1000's of food items to a wide range of customers. Most of the people my age report to multiple managers, which they report to a smaller range of manager above them, etc. It's a big chain system. Their customers are mainly of Apex residence, that prefer paying a little more for higher quality service and items.

I will be analyzing customer surveys along with the reports of Mystery Shoppers. I will then enter those data pieces into an excel spreadsheet along with the Harris Teeter report building software, comparing how we stand against the company as a whole. As well as focusing on things that we need to work on such as Customer Service wait time, etc. I will work with my direct manager Sarah. I fit in by helping the stores employees see what things we need to work on, in a way that they will understand. Whether that be making a graph in excel, or posting data pieces into a table.
